Introduction
AutismAble receives fire risk assessment support from Brighter Compliance.
Introduction
AutismAble is a service focused on improving the quality of life for people with autism and learning disabilities.
Everything they do is about valuing and supporting people with a learning disability, their families and carers. They empower neurodivergent people to have aspirations and to fulfil their potential.
The company have three commercial premises based in South Tyneside and Sunderland.
Why did AutismAble decide to seek support from Brighter Compliance?
Administrative Coordinator Rachel Blair shared the reasoning behind the decision,
“The safety of our members and staff is always our top priority and with the addition of our Sunderland premises, we thought it was a great time to bring all 3 locations in line and ensure they’re all fully compliant.
Many of the people we support are diagnosed with autism or have learning or physical disability, which places them in a vulnerable category, that made it absolutely essential that our premises were as safe as possible for everyone.
As a business, we’re committed to supporting the local economy wherever we can. After carrying out research, Brighter Compliance stood out, not only are they based nearby in North Shields but they also have a highly experienced team and outstanding client feedback.
Fire risk assessments are a critical part of protecting both people and property so we wanted to ensure this was handled by true professionals who could carry it out to the highest standard.”
The process
Commenting on how the process worked, Rachel continued, “The Brighter team were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Andy worked around our schedule, carrying out the risk assessments at a time that suited us best.
Throughout the assessments, he kept us fully informed and provided our staff with valuable insights into potential risks and future dangers.
What really stood out was how he explained everything using clear, real-world examples that were easy to understand. Andy also offered practical advice on further improvements we could make to strengthen the long-term safety and compliance of our premises.”
The outcome
Brighter Compliance recently completed three fire risk assessments for AutismAble, leaving the organisation confident that their staff, visitors, and premises are safe and that they remain fully compliant with fire safety regulations.
Rachel shared her thoughts on the experience, “We’re delighted with the service we received from Brighter Compliance. They made the whole process of organising the assessments straightforward and provided us with fantastic advice and guidance. We now have complete peace of mind knowing our premises meet fire safety regulations and most importantly, that our staff and visitors are safe.”
Andy Leese, Compliance Consultant at Brighter Compliance, added, “Carrying out a fire risk assessment is a legal requirement for most businesses but more importantly, it’s a vital step in protecting people, property and operations.
It’s refreshing to see a business like AutismAble take their fire safety responsibilities so seriously. By regularly reviewing and updating their assessments, they can stay ahead of risks and ensure their fire safety measures remain effective and compliant.
When businesses invest in regular assessments from qualified professionals, they not only demonstrate a clear commitment to safety but also reduce the risk of disruption and create a safer environment for staff, customers, and visitors.”
