Binding Solutions Limited approached Brighter Compliance ahead of its integrated recertification audit for ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
The business already had an established Integrated Management System (IMS) in place, so our role wasn’t to start again or introduce unnecessary paperwork. Instead, Binding Solutions wanted independent assurance that its existing systems were working effectively and that the team was well prepared for the upcoming external assessment.
With an upcoming external audit, Binding Solutions turned to Brighter Compliance for practical ISO recertification support, helping the team prepare confidently across all three standards. With a relatively short timeframe before the audit, our focus was simple: identify the priorities, provide practical support and help the team go into recertification with confidence.
The Challenge
Binding Solutions had already done much of the hard work. Its Integrated Management System covered three key standards:
- ISO 9001 – Quality Management
- ISO 14001 – Environmental Management
- ISO 45001 – Occupational Health & Safety Management
However, preparing for an integrated ISO recertification audit means demonstrating that these systems aren’t simply documented, they need to be embedded into the way the organisation operates.
Binding Solutions wanted an independent review that would highlight any areas requiring attention before the external audit without creating additional bureaucracy or overcomplicating an already established system.
The support therefore needed to be practical, proportionate and focused on genuine audit priorities.
Our Approach: Integrated ISO Audit & Readiness Support
Brighter Compliance began by carrying out an integrated internal audit covering ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
Rather than treating each standard as a completely separate exercise, we reviewed the Integrated Management System as a whole and considered how effectively it was operating in practice.
The internal audit helped us establish where existing arrangements were working well, identify areas requiring further attention and give the management team a clearer picture of its overall certification readiness.
Our ISO recertification support focused on providing independent assurance, practical recommendations and a clear understanding of where improvements would add the most value.
This meant the available time could be focused where it would make the biggest difference.
Practical support, not unnecessary paperwork
One of the priorities throughout the project was to keep our recommendations proportionate.
Good ISO management systems shouldn’t create paperwork for the sake of paperwork. They should support the organisation, provide appropriate controls and help demonstrate that processes are being managed effectively.
Following the internal audit, our team continued working alongside Binding Solutions during the final preparation period.
This included practical advice, reviews of key management system arrangements and support in preparing the team for the level of scrutiny expected during the external recertification audit.
Importantly, the process remained collaborative.
Binding Solutions’ management team responded quickly to recommendations and retained ownership of its management system, while Brighter Compliance provided the independent perspective and ISO expertise needed to support the final stages of preparation.
The Outcome: Successful ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 Recertification
Binding Solutions went on to successfully complete its integrated recertification audit across ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
Through a combination of independent auditing, collaborative working and focused ISO recertification support, Binding Solutions successfully completed its integrated assessment across all three standards.
The external assessment concluded positively, with favourable feedback received regarding the management system and the work undertaken by the team.
Through the project, Binding Solutions gained:
